The St. Charles Writers Group is a workshop for novice or experienced writers that meets the second and the fourth Saturday of each month. The group is open to all those 18 years of age or older looking for a community of writers and seeking to improve their writing. All genres are welcome. Part 1 of 2: AARP Smart Driver is the nation's first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 and above. The two-day course covers defensive driving techniques and provides tips for adjusting to the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. Participants will learn about current rules of the road and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly-challenging driving environment. A participation fee of $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members includes a guidebook. Attendees pay the instructor directly.
