Part 1 of 2: AARP Smart Driver is the nation's first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 and above. The two-day course covers defensive driving techniques and provides tips for adjusting to the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. Participants will learn about current rules of the road and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly-challenging driving environment. A participation fee of $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members includes a guidebook. Attendees pay the instructor directly.
Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. The Great Decision discussion group is intended to stimulate a discussion of foreign policy issues. Participants may check out a copy of the briefing book at the Library. Participants should be ready to discuss the article prior to participation. Come and explore the history of one Eastern European favorite baked item called Babka with Bill the Baker. Bill has been baking bread for more than 40 years. He is currently teaching baking classes to both children and adults at DRM European Café & Delicatessen in Saint Charles. Tasty bites will be shared. Registration is open to St. Charles Library cardholders through February 28. If space is available, it will be open to non-cardholders.
