This lecture commemorates the centennial of the death of Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. In her presentation, art historian Dr. Michelle Mishur discusses important examples of Klimt's work including The Kiss and the Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer, aka The Woman in Gold. Dr. Mishur also places Klimt within the art historical context of late 19th century French painting.
