Part Time – 30 hrs a week
Schedule: Monday – Thursday; 30 hours a week; Occasional nights and weekends
Duties: The Communications Assistant is responsible for content creation for composing and editing articles for newsletters and other Library publications and assists with management of social media programs and efforts.
This individual composes a variety of articles and content for Library publications such as newsletters, website content and special communications; is responsible for conducting research and interviews in preparing copy; works with other departments in gathering information, formulating articles, etc. Proofreads and edits print and electronic materials. May lead assigned projects and marketing initiatives and assists with events and programs. Creates and maintains social media platforms and efforts; composes, develops and schedules posts for Facebook and Twitter and social media channels; monitors reach and activity generated by social media posts; creates and schedules ads on social media platforms. Assists the graphic artist with a variety of production tasks.
Prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures and other written materials and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team. This individual must be proficient with MS Office Suite and with web based social media.
Required Education and Experience: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; and two (2) years of professional communications and public relations experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with InDesign preferred.
Salary: Pay range/ $13.98 - $18.18- $22.37 / hour depending on qualifications. / hour depending on qualifications.
