Youth Services: Infant - Grade 8

Mission Statement

Your Library plays a very important and active role in encouraging and developing an interest in lifelong literacy and learning. The goal of Youth Services is to serve the child, infant-age 5; student, grades K-8; and adult by providing and maintaining a collection of materials, offering assistance in readers services, retrieving information, and presenting programs to stimulate reading.

Upcoming Events for Kids

August 16, 2018 - 10:30am to 11:30am

Bring your imagination. We have all you will need to create with LEGO bricks. All creations will be displayed in Youth Services until the next event and photos posted on our Kids Facebook page. Children through age 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Students age eight and older may attend solo. Grandparents may register and attend with their grandchildren using the grandparent's St. Charles library card by contacting the ASK ME desk, in person or by phone 630-584-9390. Please do not use the notes box for this purpose.

August 16, 2018 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

We invite you to hear stories at Creek Bend Nature Center at LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve. After the program, explore the Nature Center, walk the trails and enjoy nature at its best. Cosponsored with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. To accommodate as many as possible, a family may register for only one date per month.

August 17, 2018 - 7:00pm to 10:30pm

COME ON DOWN! You know the games – we have just added a library twist to popular game shows: Jeopardy; Name that Tune; Win, Lose or Draw and others. This and much more after the Library closes. It is sure to be a grand time – pizza served. Tell your friends and remember to register – last year’s event filled early. Deadline to register is noon on Thursday, August 16 or when filled.
