Holiday Giving Opportunities 2020
The holidays are a time of celebration, family, friends, gratitude and generosity. It is the time to be thankful and to give back to others, especially this year as COVID-19 has caused so many to struggle financially. Traditionally, the Library has been a location where the community can find the means to donate to several wonderful charities. While we are unable to be a pick-up or drop-off location this year, we recommend the following organizations to those interested in donating:
This organization provides a toy drive for children with cancer and other children admitted to the hospital throughout the year in Chicagoland. Donations to their online toy drive are accepted throughout the year.
A nonprofit organization that sends books to incarcerated youth in Illinois, including to students at the Illinois Youth Center. Donation are accepted yearlong.
Northern Illinois Foodbank
Donate or volunteer to help feed your neighbors. Donations are accepted at any time.
Salvation Army - Angel Tree
The Angel Giving Tree program helps families in need by providing new clothing and toys to hundreds of people each year. For those looking to donate, virtual tags may be accessed at the Salvation Army’s Tri-City Angel Giving Tree at satricity.theangelgivingtree.org/.
Donations to the Angel Giving Tree must be received by Monday, December 7. All other donations to provide food, clothing and housing to those in need are accepted all year.
Volunteer Fox Valley
Volunteer Fox Valley makes it easy for community members, students and businesses to find the perfect match for their talents and passion.
