Holiday Giving Opportunities 2021

The holidays are a time of celebration, family and friends. It also is a season of gratitude and generosity. This year, the Library is happy to be a location to connect the community with several wonderful charities.

Becca’s LEGacy

This organization provides a toy drive for children with cancer and those who are admitted to the hospital throughout the year in Chicagoland. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, books, art supplies and games can be dropped off Monday, December 6-Monday, December 20. The collection box is located in the Main Lobby near the front entrance.

Friends of St. Charles Public Library Holiday Book Sale

The Friends of St. Charles Public Library is selling gently-used holiday book sets for all the special people in your life. Gift books are located in the Library’s Main Lobby next to the Angel Tree and in the lower level in the Youth Services department. All proceeds benefit the Friends of St. Charles Public Library.

Illinois Youth Center

Monetary donations are being collected for books for students at the Illinois Youth Center. Donation envelopes are located on the Angel Tree in the Main Lobby of the Library. Please return donations by Friday, December 31.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

The Angel Tree Giving program helps children in need by providing new clothing and toys. For those looking to donate, tags are available on the Angel Tree located in the Main Lobby of the Library. New, unwrapped gifts must be returned to the Library’s Welcome Desk by Monday, December 6. All other donations to provide food, clothing and house to those in need are accepted all year at the Tri-City Salvation Army, https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/tricity/.

Toys for Kids

Jim Wheeler’s Toys for Kids campaign distributes toys to less fortunate children. New, unwrapped toys, books, art supplies and games can be dropped off Monday, November 22-Monday December 6. The collection box is located in the Main Lobby near the front entrance.
