Vestibule Holds Pickup Service
The St. Charles Public Library is now offering contactless Holds Pickup Service by appointment only. This allows you to reserve your library materials and have them ready for pickup in the Library’s vestibule.
Schedule Contactless Pickup Service during our regular business hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Friday: 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 12:00-5:00 p.m.

STEP ONE: Place an item on hold

Staff will call or email you when your materials are ready for pickup
Please call us to schedule an appointment.
STEP THREE: Pick up your holds
Go to the main entrance of the library, use door number #1 to enter into the vestibule.
To ensure proper social distancing, only one patron will be allowed in the vestibule at a time and must wear a facial covering.
Your items will be checked out and availible in the vestibule
If you miss your appointed time, you must call and reschedule. For the safety of patrons and staff, we will not be able to make exceptions.
All items must be returned in a library book drop box.
Book drop boxes will be in the vestibule and outside of the main library entrance.
- Community book drop boxes are now open.
Returns will be stored for 5 days before they are checked in. We are fine free at this time.
Do you offer curbside pickup?
Due to the nature of this service and everyone’s safety, we will not be able to make exceptions for curbside delivery.
Can I request items from another Library?
We can now place holds on items from other libraries, including Interlibrary loan requests.
When is the Library going to re-open?
The Library voted to reopen the library with limited services begininng Wednesday, July 15. The Library is following all of the local, state guidelines to maintain that staff and patrons are safe.
