Key Dates

  • Early July: Your newly-renovated Library opens  

Using the Library While We’re Closed 

  • If you need assistance staff are available during regular business hours, by phone 630-584-0076, 
    text 630-998-7275live chat scpld.org/live-chat or email
  • Remote book drops are open during the closure. Use any of our five locations or return items to any SWAN library 
  • You can check out items with your library card at any library in the SWAN network 
  • No fines will accumulate  
  • No materials will be due  
  • Online resources will continue to be available 24/7 including eBooks and downloads  
  • St. Charles Library District residents can apply for a library card online  

Your Holds  

Beginning May 8: 

  • Hold placed for pickup at St. Charles Public Library will not become available until we reopen 
  • If you prefer, you can unsuspend and change your hold pickup location to another library in the SWAN network during this time period 
  • Holds available as of May 7 will be held at the Library through May 16

Changing Your Pickup Location

You may ask us to change the pickup library, or you may manage hold details. Note that if you choose Geneva Public Library, your items will be held at their drive-up window:

  1. Log in to your Library account
  2. Choose “Library Holds”
  3. Select the item (s)
  4. Click the “Edit Pickup Locations” button and choose a library
