An evening of bedtime stories under the stars in the Helen Gale Story Room. Come dressed in your favorite pajamas and bring along your blanket or a stuffed toy.
Raymond Wiggers, author of the popular guidebook Geology Underfoot in Illinois, presents a new and surprising look at our planet's dramatic, 4.6-billion-year history--through the lens of ancient and modern climate change, as revealed by cutting-edge research in the geologic, biologic and atmospheric sciences.
As dusk turns to darkness, Carol Leeson and A. Denise Farrugia will set the stage for our featured storyteller, Sue Black. Sue’s spine-chilling scary stories will cause the hair on the back of your neck to rise. Gather at the outdoor amphitheater for stories by the campfire. In the event of inclement weather, stories will be told indoors at the Nature Center. Cosponsored with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. Bring blankets and flash-lights.
This enlightening presentation will cover the college admissions process, including campus visits, application tips, financial assistance and finding the right school for you. Julie Nelson, Regional Recruitment Director for Xavier University, brings a wealth of information from her more than 20-year career in college admissions, and can answer any questions or concerns you have about the admissions process. Parents are welcome.
What do you want from your library? Do we need more study spaces, a class on juggling, a rock climbing wall? Bring your suggestions from outrageous to down-to-earth. All high school age patrons welcome. Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. Your input can help determine the future of your library.
