Winter Reading Program

I <3 Winter Reading

Tuesday, January 3-Tuesday, February 14

Sign up for winter reading at the Library or online using READsquared*, starting Tuesday, January 3.  If you choose to participate using a paper log, you can download one here or pick up one at the Youth Services Desk. *READsquared is available through our website or as a downloadable app for iPhone and Android.

Complete three hours of reading to earn a prize book of your choice, a commemorative button, and an entry into a raffle for a gift card prize. Every additional three hours read earns another raffle entry. There is no limit to the amount of reading you complete.

The last day to log reading for prizes is Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14. Raffle winners will be pulled and notified on Wednesday, February 15. The last day to pick up any prizes is March 1.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Learning to read begins long before kindergarten.  Reading to your child is one of the best ways to boost their brainpower. Any child from birth to entering kindergarten can participate in this self-paced early literacy program.

Come into the Library to sign up and get a paper log.  Check in at the Library when you finish a log and move your canoe up our pretend river.  When you finish 1000 books, you’ll receive a fun, musical prize.

If you read just one book per day, you will reach 1,000 before the child is three years old.  Join us on this journey to help create a brighter future for your child.
