Monday, June 1–Saturday, July 31

Read all summer long with the St. Charles Public Library!

ALL AGES are invited to sign up at the Library, online or print a log to track your reading and listening—it all counts! If you complete your log, print the bonus log here!

Registration opens on Monday, June 1. The last day to log reading and redeem prizes is Friday, July 31.

*READsquared is available here or as a downloadable app for iPhone and Android.

You will earn a prize at the halfway point of 500 minutes and another prize once you’ve read 1,000 minutes! Additionally, for every 500 minutes of reading logged, you automatically earn another entry into the grand prize drawing.

Get the whole family involved for a chance to win the Family Prize Bundle! If you have both a child or teen and an adult participating from the same family, you are automatically eligible to win. The prize bundle includes an assortment of fun activities that tie into this year’s theme, including: a board game, a puzzle, a paint by numbers set, a Lego Botanical set, and a flower starter kit!

100 Books

100 Books Before Graduation is a reading challenge for teens in grades 9 to 12. Read 100 books by the time you graduate from high school and win prizes along the way!

Create an account in the READsquared app, pick up a paper log from the Research & Reading desk or print one from home. Then track the books you’ve read either on the app or the paper log. After each 25 books read, visit the Library to pick up your prize.

Keep reading throughout high school to complete the challenge!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Learning to read begins long before kindergarten.  Reading to your child is one of the best ways to boost their brainpower.  Any child from birth to entering kindergarten can participate in this self-paced early literacy program.

Come into the Library to sign up and get a paper log.  Check in at the Library when you finish a log and move your canoe up our pretend river.  When you finish 1,000 books, you’ll receive a fun, musical prize!

If you read just one book per day, you will reach 1,000 before the child is three years old.  Join us on this journey to help create a brighter future for your child.
