In accordance with the Illinois Notary Public Handbook and all application state and federal laws, the St. Charles Public Library offers Notary services for free. See the Library’s Notary Services Policy for more information.

  • Notaries do not give legal advice.
  • Notaries do not certify documents.
  • Illinois law requires that a Notary and the patron seeking notarization be able to communicate directly with each other. The Library notary is not permitted to make use of a translator.
