Saturday, April 14, 2018
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
St. Charles Country Club

Tickets are $45 per person (tickets available Feb.16)

Enjoy a delicious brunch and help the Foundation celebrate its 25th anniversary at our fourth annual Books & Brunch fundraiser. Inspired by the Library’s popular Cooking Series, this year’s event features a special presentation by The Chicago Food Encyclopedia authors Carol Mighton Haddix, Bruce Kraig and Colleen Taylor Sen. The acclaimed writers and food historians will share insights into the rich history of Chicago’s culinary culture.

The Chicago Food Encyclopedia tells the story of the city’s food history from its early days to the present. The book is a far-ranging portrait of an American culinary paradise with entries about visionary restaurateurs, superstar chefs, specialty foods, ethnic favorites and food companies of today and yesterday.

Books will be available for purchase, and there will be drawings for a variety of enticing gift baskets and silent auction items.

Tickets are available at, by calling 630-584-0076, x230 or in person at the Library’s administration office.
