The Sunday Concert Series began in 1979. The library has hosted hundreds of musicians, singers, and professional performers from a wide variety of musical styles.


March 8 – Luck of the Irish with Gavin Coyle, Carlyn Lloyd, and Jon Warfel
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish baritone Gavin Coyle, flutist Carlyn Lloyd, and pianist Jon Warfel. This performance of the Library’s Sunday Concert Series will feature traditional Irish music from the homeland that will take you back to the “Old Sod.” 

March 29 – Elgin Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Trio*
Join flutist Scott Metlicka, clarinetist Gene Collerd, and bassoonist Vince Disantis for a captivating concert of chamber music. The ensemble performs a mix of classical and chamber repertoire, highlighting the distinct colors of the woodwind family in an intimate setting. 

April 12 – Lakeshore Rush*
Lakeshore Rush will present a program inspired by the dance genre, including compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Manuel De Falla, Maurice Ravel, Keyna Wilkins, and Nikola Resanovic. Lakeshore Rush takes its name from a previously endangered lakeshore grass that has recently revitalized Lake Michigan’s shores in Chicago.

April 26 – Quartet 61 – Vive La France!*
Come and enjoy a French-themed musical feast of Quartet 61’s creative arrangements, including music of Edith Piaf, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Django Reinhardt, and more. Quartet 61 is a unique instrumental ensemble featuring harp, guitar, violin, and cello, playing music that is sure to please a diverse rangeof musical tastes. These four professional conservatory-trained musicians love to collaborate and bring the unexpected to classical and popular music of many eras.


Alba Quintet Performs Vivaldi’s Four Seasons* – will be rescheduled
The Alba Quintet features a flute with four amazingly talented string players to perform all Four Seasons by Vivaldi. Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons remains one of the most iconic works in classical music to this day. Composed in the early 18th century, this set of violin concertos vividly portrays the shifting moods and imagery of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The flutist and violinists alternate between the concerto and orchestral parts for a performance not soon to be forgotten.
