Automatic Renewals
Most items will automatically renew as long as your account is in good standing and items checked out are not on hold or overdue.
- The following items are not renewable: Lucky Day, Launchpads, Kits (Toniebox, Literacy, Parenting, STEAM).
- *The YS accessibility items can be checked out by anyone who comes to our library –5 per card. Holds are only allowed for St. Charles patrons.
Fine-Free Library Policy
The Library is committed to being a fine-free library for most overdue items. However, an overdue fine of $5.00 per day will apply to the following items Hotspots, projectors and screens, laptops, and other Beyond Books items that cost over $100.
- If an item is 14 days overdue, your account will be blocked from further checkouts until you return the item.

- Kits (Literacy, Parenting, STEAM) – 5 per card. No renewals
- DVD/Blu-ray – TV Series
- Board games and puzzles – only holdable by SCPL patrons
- Vinyl Records
- Toniebox Kit – 3 per card. No renewals
- Yoto Player – 1 per card. No renewals
- Yoto Cards – 3 per card. No renewals
- Note: Patrons will only be able to check out one Toniebox OR One Yoto. The 1 item limit will apply to both formats.
- Beyond Books Items:
Hotspots, projectors and screens, laptops – 1 per household
* Only SCPL patrons can check out Beyond Books items (equipment, projectors, hotspots, etc.).
- Lucky Day – No renewals
- Video Games – 5 per card
- DVD/Blu-ray – Movies and Non-Fiction
- VidieGoGo – only holdable by SCPL patrons
- Magazines
*Unique Management Services print & mail bills same day
