Educator Cards

To assist educators in School District 303, and all other educational institutions within the Library District boundaries, with access to the public library. Educator Cards are to be used solely for curriculum and instructional support.

• Educators will receive an individual library card.
• Educators sign up or renew each school year.
• Educators must present one of the following to be eligible for an Educator Card:
  • School issued photo ID
  • Paystub with photo ID
  • D303 keycard
• The Educator Card follows all other policies and procedures as a regular library card.

Teacher Loans

Are you looking for books to support the topics your students will be exploring this month? The Youth Services staff is pleased to assist you in selecting materials.

To request a teacher loan, submit your topics using our form at least three business days—but no more than seven business days—before to your desired pickup date*. Our staff will select materials, check them out on your behalf, and package them in a convenient bag for easy pickup. As an added courtesy, D303 teachers have the option to receive their materials via delivery. Deliveries are made exclusively on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Teacher loan items may be borrowed for up to three weeks. For more information, please email [email protected].

*Requests submitted after 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday may not be reviewed until the next weekday.

When submitting a request, please be as specific as possible with your topic selections (e.g., “types of sharks” rather than simply “sharks”).

If requesting materials on multiple topics, please indicate the number of books needed for each topic. If you would like a mix of formats, such as picture books, beginning readers, and nonfiction, we will do our best to provide a balanced selection.

To help ensure materials remain available for all library patrons, please be mindful of the total number of items requested.

 Preschools and Daycare Centers: 

Teacher loans are available to early educators working in preschools and daycare centers within our library district. Due to limited availability, board books cannot be included in teacher loans. 

To ensure equitable access and preserve our collection, we ask staff at the same preschool or daycare center to coordinate and share materials. We cannot fulfill multiple requests for the same or similar topics from a single facility. Beginning September 1, 2025, only the first request received from a facility for similar topics will be fulfilled. 

Youth Department Tours

Discover the library and plan a trip to Youth Services. Schools, scout groups, after-school programs and other organizations serving children are invited to contact the Library for group visits, programs, workshops or tours. Visits are scheduled in advance.
