Friends of St. Charles Public Library

Friends of St. Charles Public Library is a 501(C)(3) organization that helps the Library by raising funds to support special programs for patrons of all ages and to purchase equipment that is beyond the Library's regular budget.  

Call for Artists: Exterior Sculpture 

The Friends of St. Charles Public Library is seeking to place an exterior sculpture in the terraced garden area for the St. Charles Public Library. The exterior sculpture will be permanently displayed in the terrace garden area with specific location to be recommended by the artist. This is a great opportunity to showcase your work and be a part of a historic place in the community. The St. Charles Public Library is nestled in the heart of the city of St. Charles, Illinois. It rests near the beautiful Fox River and is home to many fine art pieces. The Library’s artwork is featured in the “Art and Architecture in Illinois Libraries” database, is external). With over 200 pieces of art, including exterior sculptures, the Library is proud of its varied collection.

Friends of SCPL Magazine Sale

Stop by and pick up an assortment of used magazines for a great price. All magazines are sold for $.25 each. Magazines subjects include everything from home and garden to health, entertainment, cooking, fashion and much more. There will also be a limited number of books for sale for $2.00 each or as marked.

Established in 1979, the Friends of St. Charles Public Library is committed to raising funds in support of the Library for the benefit and enhancement of its services, programs, facilities, staff, and the community it serves.

The Friends meet three times each year in October, February and June. Meetings are preceded by a potluck dinner (no food is currently being served due to COVID-19). Learn more...

Members pay no yearly dues. Membership requirements include attending at least one meeting a year, participating in one activity (i.e. book sale) and serving on a committee if asked.
