Winter Wonderland at St. Charles Public Library

We are bringing in the chilly season with several winter-themed programs and holiday-giving opportunities at the Library!

 

 

Friends of St. Charles Public Library Holiday Book Sale

The Friends of the St. Charles Library is selling gently-used book gift sets that are great grab-and-go gifts. These book gift sets are located in the Library’s main lobby next to the Angel Tree and in Youth Services. The book gift sets are available now while supplies last. All proceeds benefit the Friends of St. Charles Public Library.

Illinois Youth Center

Monetary donations are being collected to purchase books for students at the Illinois Youth Center. Donation envelopes are located on the Angel Tree in the main lobby of the Library. Please return donations by Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

The Angel Tree Giving Program helps children in need by providing new clothing and toys. For those looking to donate, tags are available on the Angel tree located in the main lobby of the Library. New, unwrapped gifts must be returned to the Library’s welcome desk by Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Jim Wheeler Toys of Kids

Jim Wheeler’s Toys for Kids campaign distributes toys to less fortunate children. New, unwrapped toys, books, art supplies and games can be dropped off now to December 6, 2022. The collection box is located in the main lobby near the front entrance.

Becca’s LEGacy

This organization provides a toy drive for children with cancer and those who are admitted to the hospital throughout the year in Chicagoland. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, books art supplies and games can dropped off December 7 – December 21, 2022. The collection box is located in the main lobby near the front entrance.

Holiday Lights Recycling

Do you have strings of holiday lights that don’t work and no longer wanted? Don’t throw them out, recycle them. Drop off lights now until Jan. 13, 2022, at St. Charles Public Library. The donation bins are located in the main lobby.

 

Drop off working or non-working Holiday Lights including:

  • Traditional Holiday Lights
  • LED Holiday Lights
  • Italian Mini Holiday Lights
  • Rope Lights
  • Extension Cords

 

Not Accepted:

  • Pre-lit garland, wreaths, or trees
  • Lighted lawn decorations or ornaments
